Privacy policy

Plain-language version: this site uses Google Analytics, the OCR demo sends your image to Google Cloud Vision and stores nothing, and we never sell your data. The detail is below.

What this covers

This policy covers becommltd.com, including the service and case study pages and the OCR demo at /ocr/. It describes what the website itself collects. Work we do inside a client's own systems is governed by the agreement with that client, not by this page.

What we collect

Only what the site needs to run and to tell us whether it is working.

Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets cookies and records things like page, referrer, approximate location and device. We do not send names, emails or document contents into analytics.
Server logs — our hosting keeps standard request logs (IP address, time, page, user agent) for security and troubleshooting.
Bot protection on the OCR demo — the demo page runs Google reCAPTCHA v3, which collects device and interaction signals to tell people from bots. It runs on /ocr/ only.
Email you send us — if you write to us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply and keep a record of the work discussed.
Local storage — your language choice is stored in your own browser. It never reaches us.

The OCR demo: what happens to your document

This is the part people ask about, so it is set out precisely.

The image is processed in memory and is not stored. It is passed to Google Cloud Vision for text recognition, the fields are returned to your browser, and nothing is written to any database, bucket or file on our side.
Google Cloud Vision processes the image to perform the recognition, under Google Cloud's terms.
Results are shown to you only — the extracted fields are returned to your browser and are not kept by us.
It is a demo. Please do not upload anything you would not be comfortable putting through a third-party recognition service. For production work we set up OCR inside your own environment.

Who else is involved

We keep third parties to the minimum the site needs.

Google — Analytics 4, reCAPTCHA (OCR demo only), Cloud Vision (OCR demo only) and Fonts.
Firebase Hosting — serves this website and keeps request logs.
We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Your choices and rights

Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you may ask us what we hold about you and ask us to correct it.

Ask us — email Becommltd@pm.me to request access to, correction of, or deletion of data we hold about you.
Block the analytics — browser settings, blockers or Google's opt-out add-on all stop GA4 from receiving your visit.
Retention — analytics data follows Google's retention settings; email correspondence is kept as long as it is useful for the working relationship, then deleted.
